Gary has been practicing Physiotherapy in Leduc, Alberta for 22 years. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta in 1994. He has also completed training in acupuncture and is a Certified Acupuncture Practitioner through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute. Gary has been a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association since 1994.
Gary has experience with all types of musculoskeletal injuries and ailments including sports injuries, work injuries, motor vehicle accident injuries, repetitive strain injuries, post-operative conditions, post fractures and arthritic conditions. In the past, he has used a combination of manual therapy, massage, electrical modalities, thermal modalities, acupuncture, exercise prescription, and education to treat these injuries. He now looks forward to primarily using shockwave therapy to help his clients deal with these injuries and conditions.
One of his main concerns when working with clients is to help them feel safe and comfortable with the treatment and within the clinic. Once this is accomplished, helping the client with their concerns can be much easier and successful.
Gary has been active in the Leduc community since starting his career. He has been a member of the Cycle LA fundraising committee as well as a board member of the Black Gold Health Foundation. After witnessing the benefit that massage therapy had on his father, who endured painful suffering and sleepless nights due to a herniated lumbar disc, Adil had strong faith and passion to pursure a career in massage therapy.
As an immigrant in Canada, he started his first step of the journey at Makami College, where he learned anatomy, physiology and pathology in order to gain a deeper understanding of the mechanisms of how different massage techniques work on human bodies.
After two years of practical training, he was skilled in orthopaedic assessment, advanced neuromuscular treatment techniques, myofascial release and cupping. Furthermore, he had mastered Swedish relaxation, deep tissue, hot stone and bamboo massage.
With great effort over those 2 years, Adil successfully became a 2200-hour certified Registered Massage Therapist, holding membership with CRMTA. Massage is his passion and he has been driven to explore more effective massage techniques to customize individual therapeutic treatment plans based on clients' different conditions.
Adil is currently completing a more specialized addition to his course which will end in February of 2018 - earning him his 3000-hour certification.
Adil loves to help clients manage pain and discomfort with his knowledge and therapeutic techniques. The client's satisfaction and smile as a result of his treatments are his greatest reward and his motivation to challenge himself to develop as a therapist.
